A 40-year-old man required hospital treatment after being seriously assaulted in broad daylight in East Kilbride over the weekend.
The incident took place on Mulberry Drive, between 2pm and 2.15pm on Saturday, when a man exited a white Mercedes car and carried out the assault.
The victim was taken to Wishaw General with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
PC Natalie Barrie told Lanarkshire Live : "We are urging anyone with information on who is responsible for this attack to please come forward.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV from the area, or any motorists who were near Mulberry Drive around the time of the incident and may have potential dashcam footage."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
