Police appeal after rare sheepadoodle missing after being startled by fireworks in Newtownards

Police are appealing for help to find a rare cross-breed dog that has gone missing in Newtownards.

The sheepadoodle, called Callie, was startled by fireworks and ran off from the Turnstone Heights area.

The Ards and North Down arm of the PSNI posted a picture of Callie on Facebook asking members of the public to keep an eye out for her.

They added that there has been a potential sighting of her on Newtownards Road.

A sheepadoodle is a rare cross-breed of an old english sheepdog and a standard poodle.

In a Facebook post at 9.37pm, the force said: "Can you keep an eye out for this Sheep-a-doodle who has been startled by fireworks and ran off from Turnstone Heights area of Ards. There has potentially been a sighting on Newtownards Road.

"If anyone spots the dog please call 101 quoting cc2021102401694."
