They have released images of a group they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who may be able to help with their investigation is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "On Saturday, July 31, seven quad bikes were seen to enter North Muskham riding along the footpath and bridleways along the river.
