Police appeal after petrol canister thrown into Auchterarder antiques shop

A petrol canister has been thrown into a Perthshire antiques shop.

The canister was thrown through a window at the shop in Auchterarder, causing a three-figure sum of damage.

It happened at around 8.30pm on Monday, February 10.

Police officers investigating the incident are now appealing to members of the public for more information.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about an incident which happened at about 8.30pm on Monday, February 10 at an antique shop on Townhead, Auchterarder.

“A petrol canister was thrown through a window, landing inside the shop and causing a three-figure sum of damage to the building’s exterior.

“Fortunately, nobody was injured.

“It appears likely that someone arrived either in a vehicle or on foot shortly before 8.30pm and deliberately threw the canister.

“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

“Also, information can be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Our reference is incident number 3714 of February 10.”
