Police appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run

Gwent Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Newport.

Police were called to the collision between a car and a motorcycle at 1.30pm on Wednesday, March 11 on Frederick Street in the Pillgwenlly area.

Following the collision, Gwent Police have reported that the car, a silver Ford Fiesta, left the scene.

The male rider of the motorcycle received serious injuries to his leg and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police has confirmed that the motorcyclist currently remains in the Royal Gwent in a stable condition.

Gwent Police are currently investigating and trying to trace the driver of the car involved in the collision.

They are appealing for anyone with information that could help their inquiries, or anyone who was in the Pill area at the time of the incident with dash cam footage , to get in touch.
