Police appeal after motorcyclist killed in east London car crash

A man has died following a road crash in east London.

Police were called to Gallows Corner, Romford, just after 9.30pm on Thursday, following reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike.

The motorcyclist, in his early 50s and from Essex, died at the scene, Scotland Yard said.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in custody.

Detectives are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or the moments before.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 7670/10Sep.
