Police appeal after motorcyclist dies in A48 crash

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist died in crash in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Officers say the 72-year-old rider came off his Green Triumph Tiger motorcycle after it crashed into the A48 Forge Farm Roundabout, near Cowbridge.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tuesday, August 11 around 2.45pm.

He had been travelling eastbound from Pentre Meyrick towards Cardiff when the accident happened.

The rider's family are being supported by specially trained roads policing family liaison officers.

The road was closed for several hours as police investigated and the scene and they are now appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "The Roads Policing Department are appealing for witnesses to the collision or the manner of riding of the green Triumph Tiger prior to the collision to get in contact."
