Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a crash with a car in East Ham.
Officers were called at 5.38pm on Tuesday, July 7, to reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Newham Way.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, which was at the junction of Woolwich Manor Way.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died later that evening.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, did not sustain injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Mark Braithwaite, from the Met's Road and Transport Policing command, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of victim at this extremely difficult time.
“As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”
