Police appeal after man was assaulted at house in Prestwich in the early hours of the morning

Police were called to an assault in Prestwich in the early hours of this morning.

Officers attended a property on Scholes Walk at around 12.15am on Thursday, April 23.

There were concerns for the welfare of a woman living at the house.

On arrival at the scene, they discovered a man had been assaulted by another man.

He was taken to hospital but was not thought to be seriously injured in the attack.

No arrests have been made, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed, but an investigation is underway.

A spokesman for the force said: “At around 12.15am on Thursday 23 April 2020, police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property on Scholes Walk, Prestwich.

“Officers attended and established that a man had been assaulted by another man.

“He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

“An investigation is underway.

“No arrests have been made.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 8172 quoting 33 of 23/04/20.

“Information can also be passed to the independent charity – Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
