Police appeal after man 'takes hold of toddler' in Weston-super-Mare

Police are appealing for information after a man allegedly took hold of a young boy.

The incident happened at about 1.10pm on Thursday (May 23), when the toddler was with his mother in the Summer Lane ponds area.

The man is described as white, of slim build, about 5ft 10ins tall, wearing blue jeans and a distinctive light blue hooded top with white patches, similar to a tie-dye effect.

After letting go of the boy, he is thought to have headed in the direction of the car park at the entrance to the ponds area near Summer Lane.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may be able to help with enquiries, or anyone who recognises the man.
