Police appeal after man robbed and attacked by group of men at Wishaw nature spot

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at a Wishaw nature spot.

The incident happened near Perchy Pond around 9pm on Thursday, April 30.

A 40-year-old man was punched and kicked by three or four men before they stole his jacket.

He was taken to University Hospital Wishaw with a serious head injury.

The suspects are described as late teens wearing tracksuits and hooded tops.

One was carrying a rucksack and another had a baseball cap on.

The suspects were drinking alcohol at the pond shortly before the incident happened.

Detective Constable Neil White, of Wishaw CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed this attack or has any information relating to who might have been involved to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1048 of 4 April 2020 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
