Police appeal after man is seriously assaulted in broad daylight in Hamilton

A 30-year-old man was rushed to hospital yesterday (Wednesday, September 25) after being seriously assaulted in Hamilton in broad daylight.

Detectives are appealing for information following the assault.

At around 1.40pm on Wednesday afternoon, police received a report of a man injured on Milton Street.

Police and ambulance attended and the injured man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, then later transferred to Monklands Hospital where he is being treated for lacerations.

Detectives Constable Christine McLanachan of Cambuslang Police Station, is appealing for information. She said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact location in the Burnbank area where this assault took place.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed it, or who has any information that will help our investigation to contact Cambuslang Police Station through 101, quoting reference number 1678 of 25th September.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
