Police appeal after man dies in A82 road crash

A man has died following a crash on the A82 near to the Erskine Bridge last night.

The 34-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after reports he had been struck by a car on the dual carriageway westbound at Duntocher.

Dumbarton man swindled out of five-figure sum by bogus callers

Emergency services were called at around 5.05pm and attended with the road closed as a result.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

Sergeant Paul MacPherson said  “An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of this incident and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time it occurred to contact us. In particular, if you have a dash cam, please check your footage as it could hold images which could assist us in our investigation.”

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call road policing officers via 101, quoting incident number 2255 of Monday, November 23.
