Police appeal after man attacked at petrol station in Chester-le-Street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked at a petrol station which left him with head and face injuries.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was attacked at Plawsworth filling station, in Chester-le-Street, on the A167 at around 4pm on Sunday, April 12.

He was walking across the petrol station forecourt when he was assaulted leaving him with facial injuries, which left him needing hospital treatment.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, either in their car or on foot, who witnessed the incident.

A spokesman added: "We would also appeal to anyone with any dashcam footage of the incident to come forward."
