Police appeal after group distracted shop owner and stole £20,000 of gold

Police are appealing for information and warning local businesses to be vigilant following a distraction burglary in the Jacksdale area of Nottinghamshire.

The burglary happened at a local news shop on Main Road in Jacksdale on January 10, 2019 at around 2.10pm.

Three men and four women visited the village store.

The men and two of the females distracted the shopkeeper while the other two women then entered the house above the shop.

They stole up to £20,000 worth of Asian gold.

The group then quickly left the shop together.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers would like to speak to the people pictured in connection with the incident.

"If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident number 851 of 10 January 2019."
