Police appeal after Edinburgh man fails to return home from Leith drive

Police are appealing for anyone with information that might help to locate a 75-year-old man who is missing from Leith.

Frederick Silvester failed to return home after leaving his Leith home at around 8:45 am this morning to run a short errand.

Police say the missing man was driving a black Nissan Almera while wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded top, navy Reebok trainers and a grey rain jacket.

Attempts to locate the man have 'so far proved unsuccessful' and police are urging those who may have seen him to call Police Scotland via 101.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: “It is completely out of character for Frederick to disappear and not be in touch with his wife and family.

"His family is understandably upset and just want him home safe and well.
