Police appeal after "despicable" Vale of Leven Hospital car theft

Police are appealing for information after a car was stolen outside the Vale of Leven Hospital in a “despicable” act.

Officers in West Dunbartonshire are carrying out enquiries and appealing for witnesses following the theft of a vehicle parked in the car park at the Alexandria hospital.

Two further cars were vandalised and another broken into in the same location.

A silver 14 plate Ford Galaxy MPV car was stolen from the hospital car park between 9.15am and 7pm on Thursday, June 6.

Between 2.40pm and 5pm on the same date, another car in the parking area was broken into and a dashcam stolen.

And between 11pm later that day and 8am on Friday, June 8, a blue Volvo XC90 car and a blue Jaguar car were vandalised, with the tyres slashed and bodywork scraped.

West Dunbartonshire community policing inspector Mo Boyle said: “Car crime can have a significant impact on individuals and it is particularly despicable to target cars in a hospital car park.

“These car parks and the hospital grounds are usually busy during the day and I would urge anyone who was in the area and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.”
