Police appeal after crash between car and motorbike leaves rider seriously injured

Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash between a car and a motorbike that left the rider seriously injured.

The collision involving a Peugeot 207 and a Kawasaki motorbike happened on Blaenllechau Road in Ferndale, Rhondda at around 7.30pm on Thursday, July 16.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff.

Officers from South Wales Police are appealing for information following the incident.

A spokesperson from the force said: "Officers investigating a collision in Rhondda which left a man seriously injured are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"South Wales Police was called to assist ambulance colleagues at the scene of the collision, involving a Peugeot 207 and a Kawasaki motorbike, on Blaenllechau Road, Ferndale, at around 7.30pm on Thursday, July 16.

"The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff.

"Officers are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet given an account to police, to come forward.

"They are also particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have any dash-cam, CCTV or mobile phone footage which may have captured the collision or the manner in which either vehicle was being driven prior to the collision."
