Police appeal after collision involving a car and pedestrian in West Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was taken to hospital after a car collision in West Belfast.

The PSNI said they were looking for information following a road traffic collision at the junction of Donegall Road and Rodney Parade in West Belfast yesterday.

The incident occurred after 10pm on Friday (July 24).

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He has since been released on bail pending further police enquiries, police say.

It is understood that the male pedestrian remains in hospital.

Inspector David McBride said: "I would appeal to anyone who was travelling on the Donegall Road between 10.10pm and 10.30pm last night, Friday, July 24 and who has dash-cam footage of this incident to contact police.

I would also ask anyone who has information that would assist us with our enquiries to contact police at Woodbourne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 2053 24/07/20, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via  http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. ”
