Police appeal after bike worth up to £500 stolen and sold to pawn brokers

Police have launched an investigation after a mountain bike worth up to £500 was stolen and then sold to a pawn brokers.

The VooDoo Bantu mountain bike was stolen from a back garden of a house in Derby Road, Borrowash, on Friday, April 19.

On the following day the bike, which retails for around £450, was sold to a pawn brokers in High Street, Long Eaton, by a man who gave false details.

Officers have since recovered the bike and the force is now looking to identify the man pictured who may have information that could help with the investigation.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: "If you know who he is, please get in touch using one of the following non-emergency contact methods.

"Please quote the reference number 19000199516 and the name of the officer in the case, PC Mark Karim, in any correspondence."
