Police have issued an appeal for information after a 16-year-old lad was taken to hospital at the weekend.
At around 12.35am on Saturday, police were made aware that the teenager had been taken to Crosshouse Hospital after taking unwell on Mull Crescent in the Broomlands area of Irvine.
Police say that enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances.
A spokesman added: “We believe that the 16 year-old may have been in the company of another man in the Mull Crescent area before the ambulance attended.
“We are working to trace this man and would appeal for him to contact police to assist with our enquiries.”
