Police appeal after 10-year-old boy on a scooter hit by BMW in Moston

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy on a scooter was struck by a car in Moston.

The 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the collision on Moston Lane at around 6.35pm on Thursday.

Police say the boy crossed the first lane of traffic on his push scooter but was struck by a black BMW 1 Series when he reached the second lane.

He remains in a serious condition in hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the BMW stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
