Police appeal after £1,000 mobility scooter stolen in Consett

Police are appealing for help from the public to trace a mobility scooter worth £1,000 which was stolen in County Durham.

Officers believe the scooter was stolen from Fourth Street in Consett, between 10.30am and 6pm on Thursday (October 8).

It is described as dark midi scooter which is worth approximately £1,000.

Durham Constabulary is now appealing to the public for help in a bid to reunite the mobility scooter with its owners.

The force tweeted: "Police are looking to trace a mobility scooter which was stolen from Consett.

  • Fourth Street
  • Between 10.30am - 6pm on Thursday (Oct 8)
  • Dark midi scooter worth £1,000

"Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Bartley on 101."

Fourth Street is a residential area in Consett mainly made up on bungalows which is where police say the mobility scooter was taken from.

Mobility scooters can be worth anything ranging from hundreds to thousands of pounds and are used to aid the elderly or those with mobility problems.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact the police on 101.
