Schools, police and businesses in Tameside have been working together to help keep local kids on the straight and narrow.
The Safer Schools Partnership is a new project by GMP Tameside that sees officers go into schools and speak to students about things such as anti-social behaviour, crime and personal safety and encourage them to focus on their studies.
One of the schools they have been working with is White Bridge College in Dukinfield , which is part of the Tameside Pupil Referral Service.
The students who attend are not in mainstream education for a variety of reasons - primarily due to permanent exclusion.
Some of them study mechanic-based courses, and the college was in need of a car for them to work on.
The Safer Schools Partnership's north team - which covers Stalybridge , Dukinfield, Mossley and Ashton-under-Lyne - got in touch with Auto Salvage Stalybridge to see if they could help out by donating a vehicle, which was delivered this week.
PC Tony Lawton said: "It's great that Auto Salvage Stalybridge, a local, family-ran business, can help out at a local school. It is something that is so valuable to the students' development and learning."
