Police and protesters clash in Nepal after social media ban

  • Clashes occurred as demonstrators pushed through barbed wire near the Parliament building, forcing riot police to retreat.

  • The Nepalese government justified the blocking of social media platforms by stating they had failed to officially register in the country despite receiving repeated notices.
