Dashcam footage shows the terrifying moment police and passersby rush to rescue the occupants of an overturned, burning SUV in Texas.
In footage released by Corpus Christi Police Department on January 4, a group of people can be seen running over to the SUV before desperately rocking it to tip it over.
Police reported that a 70-year-old man was trapped inside after his vehicle was struck by another vehicle travelling the wrong way down the highway.
The collision took place on State Highway 58. Police said it was believed that the man “would not have survived” without the “heroic efforts” of all involved.
A local report from the Corpus Christi Caller Times on January 2 said at least one man died in a collision between a car and an SUV on SH 358 early on New Year’s Day.
