Police and paramedics respond to 'fears for person' in city street

Police and paramedics were called to a street in Liverpool on Saturday morning after reports about concerns for the safety of a person.

A large emergency service presence could be seen on Church Road in Walton as officers from Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service crews responded to the incident.

Seven 999 vehicles were in attendance at the height of the incident, which unfolded from around 10am.

Church Road, which runs off Walton Lane, did not have to be closed to the public while the situation was dealt with by emergency responders who had been sent to the scene.

Merseyside Police later said that the force's response had followed concerns for the welfare of someone inside a property but that the situation had been resolved by around 11am.

There were no arrests as part of the police response.
