Emergency services were scrambled to Salford at 4am after reports of an 'intoxicated man' on a motorway hard shoulder.
One lane of the eastbound M602 had to be closed while police and paramedics dealt with the incident.
Langworthy Road, where it crosses the motorway also had to be closed.
An 'intoxicated male' with an injury to his wrist was found at the side of the motorway hard shoulder.

Langworthy Road and the M602 were fully re-opened by 6am, Transport for Greater Manchester Confirmed, although a police investigation is continuing.
Langworthy Road connects the Langworthy and Weaste estates either side of the M602.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers and North West Ambulance Service paramedics were called to reports of an 'intoxicated male at the side of the hard shoulder' of the M602.
When officers arrived, they found a man with an injury to his wrist.
An investigation is continuing, the spokesman confirmed.
