Police and mountain rescue crews launch appeal to find missing Cairngorms climber

Police and mountain rescue crews are appealing for information to trace a man who went missing in the Highlands.

David Wightman was last seen in the area of Cairn Toul in the Cairngorms at 2pm on Friday.

The 52-year-old is described as a white male, six foot and two inches tall.

When last seen he was wearing a black Berghaus jacket and carrying a black rucksack with a yellow rain protector.

David usually wears glasses.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are asking the public for their assistance in tracing missing person David Wightman, 62.

"David was last seen in the area of Cairn Toul in the Cairngorms at 2pm on Friday, October 8.

"Anyone who has any information in relation to should contact police on 101 and quote incident number 1624 of 09/10/21 or speak to any officer."
