Police and HMRC officers intercept vehicles using red diesel

Police Fermanagh and Omagh have intercepted vehicles running on red diesel in Omagh following a joint crackdown with HMRC officers.

Officers stopped a number of vehicles including six cars and two vans in one stretch of road in the Omagh town area.

One driver was also cautioned for being in possession of Class B cannabis.

Police tweeted: "In a joint operation with HMRC officers, 6 cars and 2 vans were detected running on red diesel in the Omagh town area on one stretch of road tonight.

"Several vehicle defects including heavily tinted windows, faulty lights and noisy exhausts were also dealt with."

"And one driver was cautioned for possession of a class B drug."
