Police and forensic teams searched the back of a raided home after three people were stabbed to death in an attack in Nottingham. The attack took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning that left two 19-year-old students and a man in his 50s dead.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the deadly rampage and police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the violence.

At about 4am, two students walking home from a night out were stabbed to death. One of those has been pictured as Barnaby Webber - the other as Grace Kumar.

Police raided a property on Ilkeston Road on Tuesday afternoon, The Mirror reports, near to where the first killings took place. Forensics and police can be seen in an alleyway backing onto the property.

A group of officers can be seen in the alley, in front of a shut door at the far end. It isn’t clear what they’re doing there, but police were continuing their investigations into the attack

Earlier in the day, officers used a battering ram to raid the property and a white Toyota was cordoned off on Arundel Street, which is adjacent. Mohammed Qasim and Nisar Ahmed, who work at Xclusive Hair Studio next door to the property, said it had been raided last year.

Mr Qasim said they were in the shop when the property was raided. He said: "The 'for sale' sign has been up for about two-three months. We haven't seen anyone since."

Officers were first called to Ilkeston Road around 4am, where they found the two dead students. Chief Constable Kate Meynell said that a man in his 50s was then stabbed to death on Magdala Road before his van was thought to have been stolen and used an hour later on Milton Street to allegedly try and run over three people.

One man is in hospital in critical condition, and two others have suffered minor injuries.

Police said they were keeping an open mind over the motive for the knife and van attack. Nottingham University confirmed that two of the three people who were killed were students at the university.
