Police and forensics outside block of flats after body of man in his 30s discovered

The body of man in his 30s has been found at an address in Oldham.

Police were called to a property on Cowie Street, Shaw, at around 7pm last night (Tuesday) following concerns for the welfare of a man.

Officers attended and sadly found the body of a man believed to be in 30s.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around his death, police said.

In a statement a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 6.55pm last night (Tuesday 5 August 2020), police were called to an address on Cowie Street, Shaw following concerns for the welfare of a man.

"Officers attended and sadly found the body of a man believed to be in his 30s.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.

"A scene remains in place at the property."
