Police and forensic unit investigate after distressed woman taken to hospital

Police continue to investigate whether offences have been committed against a woman found distressed in Bristol.

One forensic unit and a police car were parked on Lawford Street in Old Market, shortly before 4pm on Sunday (October 25).

Seven police and forensic officers could be seen next to a small area they had cordoned off in front of a red-brick property. The tape has since been lifted.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “We were called at about 2.15pm [on Sunday] by South West Ambulance Service to attend Old Market, Bristol, where a woman was found in a distressed state outside a property."

An ambulance took the woman to hospital, where she has received medical attention.
