Police and fire service respond after blaze at massage parlour

Police and firefighters have responded to a blaze at a massage parlour in Trafford this afternoon.

Three fire crews were sent out after the incident at a premises on the corner of Northenden Road and Broad Road in Sale at around 1.45pm.

A fire broke out on the first floor which is used by Unique Thai Massage, according to a sign on the side of the building.

The fire was quickly extinguished and it is not believed there were any injuries.

Pictures from the scene show a number of charred domestic appliances on the pavement behind a fire cordon.

There are also scorch marks beside a window.

It is understood police also attended to assist with traffic management as Broad Road was closed while firefighters dealt with the incident.

All emergency services have since left the scene and the roads have reopened.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 1.45pm on Sunday, 11 April, firefighters were called to reports of a building fire on Northenden Road in Sale. "

"Three fire engines from Stretford, Sale and Altrincham stations quickly attended the scene.

"The fire involved the first floor a commercial property.

"Fire crews used breathing apparatus, two house reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire."
