Police and fire service at Lochend Park for missing person search

A heavy police and emergency service presence has been seen at Lochend Park in Edinburgh on Saturday evening.

Police said the activity was in connection with an ongoing missing person inquiry.

While it hasn't been confirmed which inquiry the search is in connection with, Robert Scoular was reported missing from Lochend earlier in the week.

Members of the public reported seeing diving teams and a boat in the park's loch. Fire service vehicles were also at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed there was "activity ongoing as part of a missing person inquiry."
