Police and ambulances rush to Rochdale street after body of man, 32, found

The emergency services rushed to a residential street after a body was found.

Police and paramedics were called to 'an incident' in Downham Road in Heywood, following a 999 call just after 9.30 this morning sharing 'concerns for the welfare of a man'.

Paramedics confirmed they did not take anyone to hospital, with police adding that a body was found.

Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at 9.30am to a report of concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Downham Road, Heywood.

"A 32-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"There aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner."

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service has said: "We have attended an incident on Downham Road, Heywood, following a 999 call at 9.31am this morning. We have not taken anyone to the hospital."

The circumstances around the death are yet to be confirmed.
