Police and ambulance crew respond to Victoria Road collision

Northumbria Police and North East Ambulance Service were called to a single-vehicle collision on Victoria Road, Newcastle in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The driver of the car appeared to veer off the road and onto the pavement. The car was damaged in the crash and the driver was treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Northumbria Police tweeted at 3.46am: "We’re currently dealing with a collision on Victoria road in #Newcastle. Driver currently being seen by paramedics for injuries."

No other vehicle was involved and police are appealing for witnesses to give them information on the 101 non-emergency number.
