Police and ambulance crew dealing with incident in Kilmarnock leaving road partially closed

Emergency service crews have been dealing with an incident in Kilmarnock this evening.

Police and ambulance crews were in position at Haining Avenue in Bellfield, where the junction meets Hurlford Road.

As can be seen from the Kilmarnock Standard's picture, a car appears to be getting loaded on to the back of a recovery truck, and another vehicle was idle close to an ambulance.

Police officers were on the scene as they comb the surrounding area to find out what happened.

An eyewitness passing the scene said: “There were police and ambulance crews in the area. I’m not sure exactly what happened though but it certainly looked like something serious.

“Haining Avenue was partially blocked and entrance to Earn Place was also very limited due to the position of the vehicles.”
