Police and air ambulance attend incident near Leeds United's Elland Road stadium ahead of Wigan match

Residents in Beeston encountered a large presence of emergency services vehicles on their doorsteps this morning.

At around 11am, police cars and ambulances were seen parked at the junction of Beeston Road and Tempest Road, near to Leeds United's Elland Road ground.

The air ambulance was also in attendance, landing nearby, with photos of the scene circulating on social media soon after.

We’ve contacted West Yorkshire Police who gave us an update on the incident.

A spokesperson from the police told us a resident in one of the houses suffered a medical episode and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by road ambulance with the air ambulance not being required.

It is not thought the casualty was in a condition considered life-threatening.

There's no indication the incident should cause any great issues for those heading to Elland Road for Leeds United's match with Wigan Athletic which kicks off at 3pm.

We’ll bring you more on the incident when we get further information.
