ACT Policing arrested a man on Sunday night in connection with an alleged burglary in Conder earlier that evening.
About 10.40pm, Tuggeranong Station officers on patrol allegedly observed the man riding an e-scooter in Conder with bags over his shoulder.
Police allege the man rode away from the officers at speed before falling from the scooter. He continued to flee on foot, and discarded the bags, police said.
Police caught up with the man a short time later. Police allege that when the bags were retrieved, searches revealed dozens of items suspected of being stolen property. Officers also located a knife, police said.
The man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.
Police allege that further investigations revealed a nearby residence had been broken into and several items had been stolen.
