Nov. 09--Police are warning West Side residents about burglaries and robberies that occurred over the past three weeks.
Four burglaries occurred in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, and two robberies happened in the Homan Square neighborhood, according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.
The burglaries occurred in residences and involved an offender using force to enter the homes, stealing televisions, computers, cash, jewelry and other personal items.
The latest burglary happened between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the 600 block of North Monticello Avenue. Another incident occurred between 5:20 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the 400 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to the alert,
Two other burglaries occurred within a block of each other on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25. The first took place between 9 a.m. and midnight in the 100 block of North Hamlin Boulevard, and the incident two days later happened between 7 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. in the 0-100 block of North Hamlin, the alert said.
Police did not have any description of possible suspects in the incidents.
Two robberies on the street happened Oct. 20 and Oct. 23 in the Homan Square neighborhood, the alert said.
In both cases, attackers used force and the threat of force by displaying a handgun to steal cellphones and cash from people, according to the alert.
The latest robbery happened between in the 3600 block of West Flournoy Street around 4 a.m.
One suspect in that incident is a black male with dreadlocks who is 6-foot-1 and about 180 pounds. A second suspect is a black male who is 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, the alert said.
The second robbery occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 700 block of South Homan Avenue, the alert said.
The suspect is a black man in his late 20s. He is 5-foot-11, about 150 pounds and has a dark complexion, according to the alert.
