Police advise against getting car insurance from an aunt on Instagram

Greater Manchester Police Traffic this morning seized a vehicle on the Rochdale Road at Blackley after the driver was found to be driving without insurance.

Officers tweeted that the driver of the vehicle claimed he had insured his friend's car through an unknown contact on Instagram.

The policyholder of the car turned out to be his friend's auntie who knew nothing about the vehicle being insured via Instagram.

The vehicle was subsequently seized by GMP Traffic and the driver reported for offences relating to the incident.
