Polaris' New RZR Is the Most Capable RZR Ever, And It's Suspension Is Smarter Than You

Each year, Polaris debuts an RZR side-by-side that's just a little bit more capable, a little bit better, a little bit gnarlier than the year before. And that's an astounding accomplishment for the brand, as each year, those prior RZRs are about as good as you can make them. Yet, somehow—like Palpatine—they return and oh so much wilder than before.

And that's exactly what the brand has done once again. The ultimate expression of the RZR ethos. The most badass side-by-side around. Something that wouldn't look out of place at the King of the Hammers or Dakar start line. Welcome to the party, Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Edition.

ULTRA EDITION!

OK, so maybe Polaris might want to look at better naming schemes, as I'm not sure that's the best around... Maybe look at Porsche's nomenclature? The RZR RS sounds fine to me.

Despite the silly name, the 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Edition is the most capable RZR ever, and builds off the already hugely capable RZR Pro R. But the main difference comes in the way of the side-by-side's suspension, which gets the brand's new Dynamix DVS System.

Folks who follow Polaris' side-by-side business will likely be familiar with the Dynamix name, as it denotes its active suspension technology, which debuted ages ago on the RZR. Basically, the system lets you switch from softer to stiffer suspension setups on the fly by pushing a button inside the cabin, which gives you further control when you're bombing through the desert. I, personally, like to keep things on the softer side, as I can push way harder that way and have used the Dynamix system thusly. But to each their own, and that's exactly what the Dynamix system allows for, i.e., changing your setup on the fly and to your own personal specs.

The new Dynamix DVS, however, ratchets that adjustability up three notches, as it introduces "the industry’s first factory-integrated electronically controlled hydraulic locking sway bar links," which basically makes this RZR a McLaren. According to Polaris, "The advanced suspension system allows each wheel to move independently for maximum articulation, absorbing harsh terrain with minimal body movement for a noticeably smoother and more comfortable ride." And it does so by being able to lock and unlock over 200 times a second, and allows you to not have to think about switching up your physical suspension setup in case you want to go from rock crawling to fast desert action.

And yeah, McLarens have had this feature for a while now, though I'm not sure if that's where Polaris got it from.

Speaking about the new RZR Pro R Ultra Edition—again, that name just rolls off the tongue—Polaris' Reid Wilson, stated, "Dynamix DVS sets a new benchmark for the off-road industry. We took the industry’s most capable platform and made it even better. By applying key learnings from our race program, we’ve introduced smarter suspension that delivers maximum articulation, for more control in any environment."

In addition to the new suspension setup, the RZR Pro R Ultra Edition gets a few accessories other RZR Pro Rs don't get as standard, including the Rockford Fosgate Strage 4 audio system, heated and cooled seats, that almost comically large infotainment screen we covered a few months back, an MPI Racing steering wheel, 32 inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires, a one-off Velocity Blue color, and an interior finished with GatorStep accents. You'll also be able to choose between a two- and four-seat model, but Polaris says it's only going to make a total of 500.

As for price, it ain't cheap. If you want the RZR Pro R Ultra Edition in the two seat configuration, you're looking at dropping $46,999, and that rises to $50,999 for the four-seater. Woof. That said, you're basically getting a downsized trophy truck at this point, which all cost a cool $1 million plus these days. So if you're looking to go as fast as you can through the desert, rocks, or through Phillie during a snowstorm, I'd head to your local Polaris dealer today before these are all snatched up.
