SOCHI, Russia (Reuters) - Poland centre back Kamil Glik is making steady progress in his recovery from a shoulder injury and is still on track to play in their final World Cup group game, the country's assistant coach Bogdan Zajac said on Sunday.

The 30-year-old is vital to Poland's hopes of going deep in the tournament, and such is his importance to the team that they did not name a replacement when he was injured in training last week.

"Kamil is working very intensively, making his shoulder stronger and stronger," Zajac told reporters in Sochi.

"With every day he gets closer to return and his recovery is going in the right direction."

Poland start their Group H campaign against Senegal on Tuesday before facing Colombia and Japan.
