Poker player shockingly folds pocket kings in $37K hand

It’s possible Randall Emmett might want to have this one back.

It’s ALSO possible he made the perfect fold at the right time and saved himself from a really tough cooler.

In this Poker After Dark hand, we don’t see pre-flop betting, but you can imagine that Emmett raised with his pocket Kings to Brandon Cantu’s 7-5 of hearts. When the flop comes out, it’s a 2 of hearts, a 7 of diamonds and a 4 of spades. After some bets, a 6 of hearts comes out on the turn.

Suddenly, Cantu has all kinds of options — either a flush with his hearts or a straight with whatever comes out on the river. He bets $27,000 and Emmett talks it out, knowing he has Cantu beat (although just by a 55 percent margin), but he still folds. The broadcast is shocked, as was legendary pro Daniel Negreanu:

(WARNING: NSFW language ahead.)

It might have turned out to be smart, but it’s so tough to fold a hand like that.
