PokéNational Geographic YouTuber Faces Channel Deletion After Nintendo Copyright Strikes

The creator behind the popular YouTube series YouTube channel PokéNational Geographic says his account is now at risk of deletion after receiving multiple copyright strikes reportedly issued by Nintendo.

The creator, known as Elious, claims the strikes appeared suddenly and affected a large portion of his Pokémon-themed content.

Nintendo Copyright Strikes Target Pokémon Fan Animations

According to Elious' statement, YouTube's enforcement system has placed the channel under a seven-day countdown that could result in permanent removal if the strikes are not resolved.

Elious reports that around 20 videos were hit by four separate copyright strikes within just 12 hours. The strikes allegedly cite unauthorized use of Pokémon intellectual property, including characters, visuals, and audio elements from the games.

The channel is known for its original 3D animated wildlife-style documentaries presented in the format of nature films. It features Pokémon such as Charizard, Mew, Snom, Squirtle, and Magikarp depicted as part of a natural ecosystem.

The creator insists that the content is largely original, stating that only limited in-game sound effects were used sparingly.

YouTube Policy And Channel Termination Risk

Under the platform's three-strike system, repeated copyright violations can lead to full channel termination. The situation puts Elious' channel, built over three years and approaching 100,000 subscribers, at serious risk of deletion.

He also noted that other Pokémon-focused channels remain active without facing similar enforcement.

Creator Response And New Channel Plans

According to Kotaku, Elious stated that he does not expect to successfully challenge the claims and believes the strikes originate from official enforcement tied to Nintendo of America.

While he has begun backing up his videos, he says the channel may be permanently lost. He also announced a new channel, EliousEntertainmentYT, where he plans to upload non-Pokémon content moving forward.
