A fresh leak has painted a fairly clear picture of what players may be able to expect from "Pokémon Winds and Waves," particularly with the Gym Challenge and the Elite Four.
The information stems from documents tied to the ongoing Teraleak, which has continued surfacing details about Game Freak's next mainline titles.
'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Leak: All Gym Types Revealed
According to the leaked material via Centro LEAKS on X, "Pokémon Winds and Waves" is expected to follow a similar open-world structure to "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet." This means that players could potentially tackle multiple storylines and challenge Gyms in any order rather than a strict linear sequence.
Based on the leaked information, the eight Gym types are expected to be:
- Grass
- Poison
- Flying
- Fighting
- Dark
- Normal
- Steel
- Fairy.
Beyond the standard Gym Challenge, the leak also points to special "Majin Battles," and it is described as "Frenzied Noble" or "Rogue Mega"-style encounters, covering six additional types: Fire, Psychic, Ice, Ground, Rock, and Ghost.
These are expected to appear around the map but are not indicative of a Trainer Gym battle.

'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Elite Four Types Also Unveiled
Once the eight Gym types and six "Majin Battle" types are accounted for, four types remain out of the eighteen standard Pokémon types, and those are believed to be reserved for the Elite Four.
According to the leak, the Elite Four trainers will feature typings such as:
- Electric
- Water
- Bug
- Dragon
None of the four come as much of a surprise given past patterns in the franchise. While an Electric type specialist has never appeared in an Elite Four lineup before, Water types have shown up at the tail end of Gym challenges in past games. Bug types have often appeared early or late in Elite Four lineups, while Dragon has remained a consistent fixture for endgame challenges throughout the series' history, as per GameRant.
It remains unclear whether any of the recently leaked regional variants or new weather forms tied to Pokémon like Pikachu, Lucario, and Arcanine will factor into these Gym or Elite Four teams specifically.
'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Gen 10 Map Leak
Alongside the type leaks, a separate document tied to the same Teraleak previously revealed what appears to be the full region map for "Pokémon Winds and Waves." The leaked map points to a massive archipelago setting, believed to be inspired heavily by Indonesia and the surrounding Southeast Asian islands, featuring dozens of smaller islands surrounded by open water.
Earlier reports estimated the region could include around 30 islands in total, with a mountainous section in the northeast and an arid desert located on the largest island to the southwest.
A cluster of islands near the center of the map is also said to include at least two volcanoes. Since this information comes from leaked documentation believed to reflect an earlier point in the game's development, some details could shift before release.
"Pokémon Winds and Waves" is currently set for a 2027 release, with these leaks remaining unconfirmed by Nintendo or Game Freak and are expected to stay that way until the game arrives.
