Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero announced

After a few months of speculation, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has finally had some brand new DLC announced. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is coming in two parts, with the first dropping Fall 2023 and the second in Winter 2023. There’s been a lot of cool stuff teased for both parts, so we’ll break down everything you need to know.

Brand new legendary Pokémon

Ogerpon and Terapagos are the names of the two legendary Pokémon who will be the stars of the show in this DLC. Part 1 is dubbed The Teal Mask, and sees a group of other Pokémon looming over the trainers, who are dressed in rather fetching kimonos. These new Pokémon are called Fezandipiti, Munkidori, and Okidogi, which look as hilarious as they sound.

The second part, The Indigo Disk has promo art featuring four new tough trainers in a battlefield out in the ocean. Whether this is some new kind of Elite Four, or perhaps something more akin to the Battle Frontier is as yet unknown.

Returning old Pokémon

Like with the DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield, this DLC will add back many of the Pokémon that were cut from the main game’s roster. We have confirmation that roughly 230 Pokémon will be returning in DLC, here are all the confirmations we have so far:

The Teal Mask:

  • Chingling
  • Chimeco
  • Seedot
  • Nuzleaf
  • Shiftry
  • Feebas
  • Milotic
  • Grubbin
  • Charjabug
  • Vikavolt
  • Yanmna
  • Tanmea
  • Vulpix
  • Ninetails

The Indigo Disk:

  • Blitzle
  • Zebstrika
  • Milcery
  • Alcremie
  • Cottonnee
  • Whimsicott
  • Seel
  • Dewgong
  • Beldum
  • Metang
  • Metagross
  • Espurr
  • Meowstick

Pre-order bonus: Hisuian Zoroark

Pre-orders for the DLC will be going live very soon, and there are two pre-order bonuses available. The first are some new outfits for your trainer which break the mold a bit from the boring school uniforms seen in the main game. The second is a series code for a Hisuian Zoroark with the Charismatic Mark and a Dark Tera-type. You can get it as long as you purchase the back before the end of October.
