Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leak reveals breeding details

We’re still a ways off from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet‘s release date, but the rumor mill is already kicking into high gear.

On Monday, Centro Leaks made several tweets claiming that Scarlet and Violet will not feature Pokémon breeding as in past titles (thanks, TheGamer). Instead, there’ll be some all-new mechanics for producing and hatching eggs. There allegedly will be no Day Cares or Nurseries in the game either. What could replace these reliable systems is anybody’s guess, and it’ll be interesting to see how series die-hards respond to any form of massive change. Hopefully, they’ll dig it after two decades of the same-old stuff.

Later in the same Twitter thread, Centro Leaks also revealed several other nuggets of information regarding Scarlet and Violet. Most notably, the leg counts for all starter evolution Pokémon. Sprigatto, the green cat everyone loves, will begin on all fours, then feature two evolutions that only stand on two legs. Meanwhile, Quaxly, that teal and white duck with the slick hairdo, stands on two legs for all three transformations. Lastly, Fuecoco, the weird-looking red and white reptile, is on two legs until its final evolution, where it’s a four-legged creature.

As with all leaks, don’t take all of this as gospel. We’ll find out if any of these details are accurate when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet releases this fall.
