Pokémon Go will appear for the first time at 2022’s Pokémon World Championships and to celebrate, the mobile app has a number of new challenges and events. Here is a breakdown of what Pokémon Go players can enjoy while the event is going on in London.
Timed Research Tasks
From today, Aug. 18, when the championships begin, all the way until Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. local time, a number of Timed Research Tasks will be available to players with a whole host of rewards, too. You will receive the tasks whenever you log in between these dates.
Here’s what to do if you want to get the goods:
- Battle a challenger – 10 Poké Balls
- Battle 2 challengers – 1 Fast TM
- Battle 3 challengers – 10 Great Balls
- Battle 4 challengers – 1 Charged TM
- Battle 5 challengers – 10 Ultra Balls
The challenges, which can be found at Pokéstops, will be based on the teams of some of the players from the regional championships. You don’t have to beat the teams to get the rewards so just give it a go.
Those who finish all the Timed Research will receive an Elite Fast TM, an Elite Charged TM, and a World Cup 2022 Pikachu, which has the chance to be shiny.
Field Research Tasks
These are the tasks and Pokémon available via Field Research:
- Power up a Pokémon 3 times – Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Mudkip
- Power up a Pokémon 7 times – Gastly, Rhyhorn, Magikarp, Beldum, Fletchling
- Battle a challenger – World Championships 2022 Pikachu
- Battle in the Go Battle League – Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Stunfisk
All of these Pokémon have a chance to be shiny so try your luck!
